The Intrusion
A study of the molecular structure of a rape. Kim Pope plays a shy, bored housewife married to a businessman Levi Richards. Michael
Dattore cruises suburban streets in his car looking for the right house to invade. He poses as an insurance salesman and suddenly pushes his way into the
home.
Dattore's shrunken skeltor cokehead and loud plaid pants only make him more rank and believable. He hustles her upstairs, beats her face with his
cock, violates her with a knife handle in her pussy, and face fucks her. The Filipino maid surprises him, and she gets some of the same. She's stripped,
revealing her pussy hair shaved into a heart, and he ties her hands behind her back. However, she acquiesces and is ordered on to the bed with Pope, building to a
crescendo of an oral orgy.
A flip book reprise of the whole film is presented, leading up to the final moment with the maid drawing a close to the whole outburst. Menace is the leitmotif of The Intrusion. Sharp character
performances and professional direction contribute to its overwhelming sense of erotic threat, which is amplified by a malevolent avant- garde soundtrack.
The Intrusion is a tight, compelling, minimalist psychodrama .
